Dog Days of Summer

The rest of you out there who are expecting to suffer through record high temperatures this weekend (Richmond’s forecast calls for a high of 98, heat index of 105 today - whew), we thought this little video might help make weathering the heat a little more bearable. Here’s Burger’s cool down routine after a hot afternoon walk yesterday.

Happy sweating everyone!

We’re calling it Juneuary here in cold, wet Seattle.

HA! I love it. Thanks for the laugh!

The Kroger stores in Richmond carry FROSTY PAWS ice cream for dogs in the freezer section (square blue box with a white polar dog on it) . . . Our dogs dig those in the summer when it’s hot.

He’s just the cutest dog! I bet the cool hardwood floors feel good. My dog is loving our tile bathrooms right now. We’ve had similar weather here in Nashville (it’s 86 degrees right now at 10:24am)! I can’t wait for it to break. If it will cool things down, we can have rain for a week, for all I care.

Denise- Hope it warms up out in cold, wet Seattle. We’d be happy to send about 15 degrees your way so we can be back down in the 80s again. Oh to control the weather…

KK- No way! I just discovered Frosty Paws in Ukrops the other day. So funny that they’re right in the freezer next to lots of human targeted ice pops and ice cream bars. I wonder how many confused people eat ‘em by accident each year.

Kelli- Oh yeah, when Burger’s not collapsing near his water bowl he’s sprawled out on the tile floor in the bathroom. And speaking of all the heat, guess whose air conditioner broke on Friday night and still isn’t fixed? Yup. This Young House is now officially This Young Hot House until the air conditioner man rescues me (supposedly at around 3pm today). Fingers crossed that he gets the job done quickly and painlessly- and cheaply!

xo,
Sherry
