A Killer Room
Our two loves - home design and television - have come together in one totally killer way: Metropolitan Home’s Showtime House.
In an elaborate marketing stunt, the Showtime network has teamed up with Metro Home (with the help of a few high-end designers) to take over a Manhattan townhome and redesign it in the spirit of six of their most popular shows. We don’t get Showtime, but we’ve been Netflix-ing Dexter (an awesome show about a blood splatter forensics specialist who moonlights as a vigilante serial killer) so we totally went crazy over this Dexter-inspired dining room:
I know it’s a little morbid, but if you’re a Dexter fan you’d totally lose your stuff over it too. Not like I want our home to look like this or anything, but it’s a fun homage to one of our favorite non-home improvement shows. And in case we ever decide we’d like to bring a little piece of Dexter home, we can always order this pillow.
To learn more - and see some of the less grotesque rooms - take the virtual tour here and check out the designers talking about their inspiration in the video below. But to truly appreciate this gory and glorious decorating feat, be sure to check out Dexter when you get a chance.

My fiance and I began watching this show in its first season, and it is truly the only reason we have Showtime. I was so excited for last weeks premiere; and it certainly was a doozy, as the shows always are! Thanks for showing off the homage to his blood-spatter-analytical skills.
I really loved the first season of Dexter. I love how uncomfortable he got in emotional situations. This room is too awesome. Um, not that I am a serial killer or anything. (Or am I? Mwah ha ha!)

One of our best friends and now you have told us today to give Dexter a try. Our TV died last week. We’re sad. And looking for cash in old coat pockets to see if we can get a plasma… so we can understand how could you like a show about a serial killer!
Or, if we find 22 million dollars, buy the house!
