It’s A Colorful World
I’ve wasted entirely too much time playing around on this new website I saw on How About Orange last week. So I’m spreading the love / distraction and encouraging everyone to hit up the Multicolr Search Lab. It lets you search Flickr photos by color and even by a combination of colors.
See what showed up when I selected one of the green tones? Oooh…
Then I added yellow to it. Ahhh…
And then a touch of black. Wow.
I stopped myself there, but the program allows you to add up to 10 colors. Not quite sure what it’s good for yet (besides an entertaining distraction), but it could certainly be a way to hunt for art inspiration that’ll complement a room’s color palette.

Very cool. I did my fave color, and then the two accent colors featured in our home, along with it. Neat feature!!
This had me going for a whole day at work!! Every time i’d get a free moment… oooh… had you any idea that turquoise and red went together so awesomely? oooo lavender and gray? Me and the hubs are going to print out a few in a certain color scheme, paint them, and frame them in clusters to make them really pop. Have you found any other good uses for it yet?
Oooh is right! What fun… I need to forward this to the artists at my work - it’d be a great way to dream up inspiration for print ads too!
